Who Is June?

June was my grandmother, and she was one hell of a woman! 

Born and raised in southern West Virginia, she learned quickly that if you wanted something in this life, you would have to work for it. 

Life dealt her rough hands over the years, and she may not have always handled them with grace (let's be honest, who has?), but somehow, she always came out stronger. 

She believed in me! Witnessing her struggles, I understood that life wasn't a smooth journey, and she never shielded me from that reality. In 2019, we lost our vibrant, Elvis-loving grandmother.

I once read a prompt asking, "If you were in a room with all the people you've ever met in your entire life, who would you look for first?" Without question, it would be you, Grandma. It would be you. I'd run to you and give you the biggest hug. Tell you about your three beautiful granddaughters. Then, I tell you about the thoughts of people I've helped, all because you believed in me and the power of hard work and perseverance.
